Hey! My name is Marisa, I’m 18 and a senior from California. On Sunday April 15, Jasmine and I were asked to lead worship and share our testimonies at Victory Church in Van Wert, Ohio.
(If you are reading this and do not know where this church is, do not feel bad, I did not either.)
The church is small and in the middle of nowhere. Being a big city girl, I thought, “Great. Another little, bitty town!” As soon as we walked in, the people were nothing but friendly and welcoming, making us feel so comfortable and safe. Everyone was so relaxed; it was wonderful!
The worship set went great, and the people were pressing in and wanting to experience God. This church was a church after God’s heart. People always say you can’t judge a book by its cover; well, you can’t judge a church by its location or the number of people in the congregation.
The love of God is powerful, mighty, overwhelming and hard to find in a lot of churches today. God showed me it doesn’t matter about what we see on the outside. It is about the heart of man that matters. Matthew 6:21 says, Where your treasure is, there your heart is also.
What are you storing up: treasures in heaven or treasures on earth? God works in the craziest ways and can speak to you through anything. Going to Victory church was a life changing experience; not only did I get to minister to them about what God has done in my life, but they ministered to me through their actions and passion for God.
Student Ministry Trip to Lighthouse Tabernacle
Hi! My name is Robert. Last Sunday, I was picked for a ministry trip to Indianapolis, Indiana. The church we went to was called Lighthouse Tabernacle.
While we were at the church, Chase and I were invited to join the other teens for their Sunday school. While we were at Sunday school, we met a few other teenagers and talked with them for a little bit. Then we went to the actual service. We sang a few songs, and we worshiped God for a little bit. After Pastor Dave Totman introduced us, we then gave our testimonies of what God is doing in our lives.
After church, Pastor Dave and his family invited us out to lunch. We decided that we were going to McAllister’s Deli. We ate a good hearty meal and talked for a good amount of time. Then we left Indy to go back to New Creations. On the trip back to NCC, Chase and I listened to Building 429 and slept for a little bit. That Sunday was a good day.
