Hey, my name is Jasmine and I am 17 years old and I have been here for almost 15 months. I started playing the piano when I was 4 years and old and it has always been a passion of mine. I took piano lessons for about seven years and then I stopped. When I came here, I couldn’t wait to make my levels so that I could play the piano at church and in the dorm. But then I realized that we didn’t have a piano in the dorm and there was only one located in the Chapel and the Church.
Knowing that practice makes perfect, me and some other staff members prayed for a keyboard for me so that I could practice and jam on it in the dorm. A couple weeks later, a new staff moved in and brought a key-board with her that she said that she was getting ready to donate. She said that God told her that someone in the dorm needed one and that she needed to bring it here.

So that day when I was helping her unload, I saw that she had a keyboard and I asked if she played a lot. She said that she didn’t play much and said that it was for me. I was really happy. There was even a piano stand that was just “chilling” in the other half of the dorm randomly. I was blessed with that on the same day too. The next task was finding a power cord for it because it didn’t have one. I started praying for one and two days later, one of the staff member found one in the church that they didn’t need and they gave it to me. This time, I was ecstatic!
Being a piano player, you know that you need a sustaining pedal to play right. I didn’t have one of those either. Once again, I started praying for a pedal and one of the dorm counselors’ husband had an extra one. Things were looking really good for me and I didn’t realize how much faith I had. The next week, she walked in with a brand new pedal. She had told me that he had bought it from a Music Store because he couldn’t find the one that he was looking for at his house. I almost started crying because I was shocked that someone went out and actually bought me a pedal… that I had needed.
Now, I am praying for a music stand. My music binders are pushing buttons on my keyboard and messing with the settings. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things that are not seen (Hebrews 11:1).” If faith blessed me with a keyboard and all the things that I needed for it, even something as small as that, God can do so many things for you too.
